Parent Therapy

It is common to grapple with a myriad of emotions as you do your best to navigate this challenging time. Talk therapy offers parents a compassionate, judgement-free setting to process their feelings and concerns. The goal of talk therapy is to empower parents with strategies and confidence to face the challenges ahead.

Nancy Getter, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in adult counseling, parent counseling, ADD/ADHD, marriage and family, and grief and bereavement. I received my B.A from Dartmouth College and my MSW from the University of Maryland.

In 2013 our oldest daughter, Kathryn was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. For my husband and me, parenting a child with an eating disorder was terrifying and painful. And through this experience we often felt isolated and overwhelmed. I want you to know that you are not alone, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

As a therapist, I am here to help parents of children with eating disorders, first, eliminate defeating emotions, and second, assist them in developing skills to best support their child.
